Sip sustainably with Tea Associates
Tea Associates is committed to sustainability and actively improving our environment. We don't want exceptional tea to come at the expense of our planet. That's why we've dedicated significant time and effort to researching and collaborating with like-minded businesses to ensure that every aspect of our product is environmentally responsible.
Our tea bags are completely biodegradable, including the strings and tags, and do not contain glues or microplastics. Our teas are packaged in NatureFlex™ bags. These bags are made from a biodegradable and compostable cellophane film derived from renewable cellulose fibre. Certified biodegradable by Australian Standards AS 5810, NatureFlex™ bags can be composted at home, decomposing in approximately 15 weeks once exposed to the elements.
To ensure the freshness and quality of our teas, we heat seal the NatureFlex™ bags before packing them inside eco-friendly Kraft pouches. These pouches are made of 200gsm Kraft card with a clear, compostable Polylactic Acid (PLA) window that showcases our product beautifully.
In addition to our kraft pouches, we also offer our teas in elegant silver and Australian-themed tins. Again, our tea is first heat sealed within a NatureFlex™ bag before being packed into our tins to maintain optimal freshness and quality. These tins are designed for reuse, making them perfect for refilling with our larger tea quantities.
Thank you for supporting a brand that prioritises the environment at every step. We are proud to offer products that are not only good for you but also kind to our planet.
Thanks to the support of our valued customers we have regularly contributed to native tree plantings in Bendigo since 2021, helping to restore local ecosystems and create a greener future. Our tree planting initiative is through regional Victorian business 'Fifteen Trees', reflecting our commitment to our community and the environment. Find our trees here.
We also donate tea to local tree planting days (like those run by Northern Bendigo Landcare Group), for the wonderful volunteers working towards making our surroundings more beautiful and sustainable.
We take pride in collaborating and promoting local businesses to highlight and promote the vibrant happenings in Bendigo. We strive to build a sense of community and showcase the rich cultures of our region. By working together, we can create a stronger, more connected community that celebrates and supports each other.
